Born in the United States, Mason Dunn relocated to Costa Rica at a young age, where the meeting of cultures from all over the world created a unique amalgamation of sound perspectives inside the mind of the young wanderer, leading to the creation of the DJ and production moniker Burika. He has released multiple EPS on record label KDB, as well as Plano B and Nulab, with more forthcoming releases in the end of 2021 and into 2022.

Burika has performed at renowned events in Costa Rica, as well as abroad in the US, El Salvador, Perú and Spain. After having founded multiple events series in San Jose, amid the pandemic in 2020 Burika relocated back to his adopted hometown, the surf and yoga mecca called Nosara, deep in the jungle.

Burika draws from a wide pallete of sounds, leaning more towards the dark, deep and sexy side of techno, with organic seasoning and a European roster of influences. His productions typically include stripped down, groovy basslines, intricate percussive rhythms, melodic synth patterns and intellectual melodies, falling in the genres around deep house, progressive house, and melodic techno, but always with his own signature flavor.
